Pioneer ambassador

Bindeshwar Pathak is the Shamengo community ambassador.

At the helm of Sulabh, the largest NGO in India with more than 60,000 members, this disciple of Gandhi was one of the first Indians to advance social entrepreneurship in his country.

His work on behalf of untouchables has been extraordinary. By modernizing sanitation techniques in India, this Brahaman helped to emancipate more than a million untouchables who were forced to earn a living collecting human excrement with their bare hands.
The support of an exemplary pioneer

Bindeshwar Pathak perfectly embodies the Shamengo pioneer spirit.
He brings 40 years of experience in social and humanitarian action to members of the Shamengo community. His success in changing attitudes and behavior in the second most populated country in the world proves to us that any future is possible, including the building of a better world.
In October, we were pleased to welcome Dr Pathak to Paris, where he joined us for Clean Tag Night, celebrating the launch of Shamengo.com.
