I build roads with plastic waste
It was when Toby McCartnet, CEO of MacRebur, saw molten plastic waste inside chicken nests on the side of the road in India that he had the idea to reuse non-recyclable plastic waste to make new road surfaces. These melted pieces of plastic combined with tarmac improve the strength and rigidity of the surface, preventing deformation of asphalt. MacRebur now transforms almost any non-recyclable plastic into a new, eco-friendly asphalt. This innovation reduces the consumption of fossil fuels and carbon emissions as well as promoting a circular economy.
